anything you can do, i can do better

Cheer camp for all three girls wrapped up today. Monday was stormy and rough. The cheer coach called me because Olivia was scared of the storm and needed to talk to me. So I left work early and went to the gym to help ease her mind. At the end of practice, the girls play a game called "Little Sally Walker" which involves the girls mimicking a dance or gymnastics move. The girl that stopped in front of Olivia did a cartwheel.
Olivia has not been in gymnastics since she was 3 or 4 years old. And she never was a natural at it. She would rather run around like a wild Indian.
When the girl switched places with Olivia, I was shocked to see her firmly plant her hands on the floor and complete a decent looking cartwheel! This led me to think about the sheer determination of that little Priss to not be outdone by any "big kids".
It was interesting to see the differences between each girl as they learned and interacted with peers.
