NashVegas with the cuz

Brent and I decided it was time to take an adult trip.
The last time we went anywhere just the two of us was when our great grandma McBay passed away.
We flew (which was Brent's first time flying) to Indiana in a shoebox. lol.
It was a sad time but called for a giant family reunion.
We had a great time.

This time we decided on Nasvhille, TN. A nice long road trip.

First thing on the agenda: Food.
We searched Urban Spoon for something good in Memphis and ended up at the
Kooky Canuck.
It was good. The trip had been kicked off right.

And then we arrived.
And this is what you're exposed to when you spend time with an old man.
Ha!!

Headed out on our first day of adventures.
We explored the Belle Meade Plantation and The Hermitage.
They were full of information, history, and beauty.
It was a lot of fun exploring those amazing homes.
I can't forget this yummy place either.
It was delicious.
Brent and I had meal locations booked up that we wanted to try throughout the trip.

The Belle Meade tour ended at a winery with a sampling.
My favorite part was when Brent sauntered up tp the counter for a taste and the bar tender gave him a wine glass-no questions asked.
When I decided that I wanted a sample, he asked for ID.
I did a fist pump and "YESSSSS!"

Brent and I only had a couple of days away- and the rest of the trip is to be continued.

Sissy goes to Kindergarten

Olivia started Kindergarten this year on August 21st, 2012.
Her teacher is Mrs. Shepherd and she was so excited!

Mrs. Shepherd has the room all decorated in a Madagascar theme.
It was very cute and Livi loved it.
She could not wait to get to school to see her PreK friends.
She was also a little bummed out that Lexi and her other best buds weren't in her class but she gets to see them at lunch and outside play time.

I did ok with the first day of Kindergarten for my youngest little rug rat.
Until her teacher had the kids bring a hershey's kiss to each of the parent's and mentioned The Kissing Hand.
Then, this momma that was doing ok, teared up a little.
I left her to line up with her class and to grow up in the blink of an eye.

Gnarly....right?

Brent is 30.
My cousin, Brent, and I have always been close. We spent lots of time together growing up.
We threw him an "80's Roller Rink" birthday party.
We had nachos and cheese, hot dogs, and all varieties of 80's candy.

I think everyone had a great time.
And I got to see another childhood friend, Megan!!
We spent tons of time together growing up and had so many good laughs.

I have more pictures that are on my camera. These were all phone pics.
I think everyone had a really good time.
I hope that it distracted Brent from the fact that he had a big birthday.
