The Way it Used to Be

The girls and I have spent the day out on the town! We went to Payless, Kohl's, Target, and Kroger for some groceries. I am exhausted and am counting on the girls being that way as soon as they lay down for the night too!

The title of this blog is in regards to our life for the next week. Alex has been asked constantly to travel again due to the oil spill and need for lots of staff to go to the coast. He left last night to head to Mississippi. He will be gone all next week and should be back next weekend (if his company doesn't talk him into staying longer. And I have already warned him of the insane lady he will have here with his children if he agrees to do that.) We manged to get the girls enrolled in a cheer camp all next week after school until around 5:00pm so that I can work my regular hours. The girls are really excited about the camp too.

Olivia has asked about Alex quiet a bit and doesn't quiet understand what is going on with it all. She cried when he left because she wanted to ride in the rental car that he got. We had supper at Macaroni Grill before he left and then took him to get his rental car. I know it's going to be an adjustment for all of us to go back to the way things used to be when he traveled all the time but we will make it.

Alex had the girls each paint me a little decorative dish for mother's day. And we met up with Nana and Poppa at Hot Springs for a mother's day meal at Out Back. Olivia was all about her Poppa that night. She was very upset when she had to leave them and couldn't ride back to Newhope with them.

Abi was so excited to go to Macaroni Grill because they let you color on the tablecloth (butcher paper). She drew her family. I love Alex's hair style, lol.
We love you Daddy! And don't worry about us while you're gone.

Playing Catch Up

It has been a while! The girls are growing up so fast. I can't believe how beautiful they are.

I will start back at Easter of this year. The girls had a personal egg hunting party with Big Granny at her house. None of the other relatives were there, just us and Big Granny. We had a good visit and Big Granny even put some money in some of the eggs. The girls had a blast and I ended up with my first sun burn of the year, ridiculous.

I know that  a lot has happened that I have forgotten about! But, next on my memory card from my camera are pictures from a friend's birthday party. It was a Luau party at Parties Etc!

Makayla took a field trip to the zoo. She got to ride the school bus for the first time. She was pretty excited and I got to ride the bus with her. What joy! I haven't been on a school bus since high school and I sure don't miss those long hot days. Makayla had a blast. On the way to Little Rock I asked her what she was going to see at the zoo. She thought intently for a moment and then said, "hmmm, maybe we will dinosaurs at the zoo."

I found the name of this particular kit interesting and sickening all at the same time. Just in case you can't read it, it says "Body Fluid Clean up Kit"

We had a great day at the zoo. KayKay's friend Skye walked around with us throughout the day. I love the giraffes. They are my favorite and when we went to see them, they were particularly playful. They kept nudging and pushing eachother. It was great! The girls could have cared less but I had to stay and watch for a few minutes.

The kids got to play at the park by the zoo afterwards. They had a blast. The last picture is Makayla's class and her teacher, Mrs. Southard. She has been wonderful!

We went out for a shopping trip last weekend and had lunch at a good mexican restaurant. On Sunday we went to Disney On Ice after church. The girls really liked it and Olivia was jumping out of her chair when she saw Mickey and Minnie. She's a big fan of The Little Mermaid too. Abi and KayKay had a great time too and liked seeing The Princess and the Frog. I laughed my butt off at the end when Toy Story came out with a troll doll in a bikini and a pig skating on all fours. It was a good time.

Disney On Ice put on a show for holidays throughout the year. There was Valentine's Day, Christmas, Birthdays, Halloween, Spring, and Summer. It was fun.We were all exhausted by the time it was over though!
I went in one night to tuck the girls in and turn off their lamp because they had layed in bed and looked at books. This is how we found KayKay....

We went to see our family this weekend. My mom and aunt threw a surprise birthday party for my Memaw. We went to the decoration at the cemetary after church and caught up with a lot of family members there too. I will post on that later...hopefully not two months later, but later.

To end this entry for now, tonight during supper, Abi looked at me as I was giving her a drink and said, "Momma, you're a good parent. And Daddy is too." I never knew how much that would mean to me coming from my child. I told her that she makes parenting easy because she's such a great kid.

We love you all and pray for a safe and happy week!! Take Care!
