Pardon My Language.....

In the words of my good friend Debbie....HOLY HELL.....

You know I couldn't just end it on that note. He is bald now. And here was the girls' reactions to the mo-hawk

Gotcha Day 2009 and Then Some

On July 25, 2008, the Hill/McBay family welcomed three lovely little ladies into the pack. We spent our Friday morning in court. I spent most of my time in court bawling. It was one of the best days of our lives. And on Saturday we celebrated the day that we legally became a family.

My Granny, Papaw, Memaw, Mom, Dad, Brother, Brent, Dedee, Sydney, Jason, and Justin all came over to have lunch and visit with us.

Blessed be the tie that binds.....
We thank God every day (even on the difficult ones) for our family. Alex and I weren't always sure if God was on the same page as us when it came to our desires to be parents. Boy, did He show us!
Thanks for sharing in our special day.

It Just Keeps Gettin' Better

We have had another great week and weekend. The work week stays busy and flies by. We got up Saturday morning and stopped at McDonalds for breakfast on the way to Newhope. We went dressed in our bathing suits and hit the pool as soon as we got to Nana and Poppa's house. We played in the pool with Uncle Seth and Poppa. Nana got home later and they grilled out for lunch/supper.
After the pool, it was time for the over sized sand box. The grown ups had just as much fun as the kids.

First, they decided to bury Alex.

And after Alex, it was time for Biscuit to get buried.

We had a great day of swimming and playing. We were all red and sun burned. All three of the girls ended up tan by Sunday morning but Alex and I weren't so lucky. Alex is burnt really bad across his chest and shoulders. Saturday evening, Nana and Poppa watched the girls while Alex and I went to Texarkana for some alone time. It was really nice. Alex and I really enjoyed being able to have a conversation without stopping to handle what the kids need every two seconds. It was also nice to get in and out of the car quickly and to not have to get a buggy everywhere we went. I think I enjoyed that outing a little too much, lol.
Today was our monthly family potluck. After church, we headed down to a picnic area by the water and had a great lunch with our family. Our get-togethers are getting better all the time! My cousin Lindsey and her little boy Jackson were able to come this time and our good friends John Robert and Katie came too. It was wonderful!

It makes it a little tougher to leave from visits back home when we get to have such a great visit with everyone. I have to say, yet again, that I am SO incredibly thankful for my family and the joy and love that they bring to life. Thanks guys!

Happy Birthday

After work on Friday, I started baking and decorating Addison's birthday cake for Saturday. I had to make a run to Target for a few things, but by the time I was ready to go, this is what Alex and Olivia were doing....

I love that she still crosses her feet when she sleeps.

So, Abi, KayKay, and I loaded up and headed to Target. All of the girls were put to bed when we got back and I continued work on the cake. Here was the finished product around 11:30 friday night.

Gina set up for the kids to fish in this bucket. There was a slippin' slide and water sprinklers. My girls liked the swing set and slide the most I think. Addison had a good turn out for her birthday party.
Angela's daugher, Riley. We love Riley Roo!

Sandra's daugher, Liv. Sandra also has a little girl named Mia. Both beautiful ladies.
Look at that hair!

And here's mine with one of the first fits of the day...

Gina had little tables set up for the kids to decorate sugar cookies. I think all of the children loved it!

No sooner than Olivia got the last bite of her cookie in her mouth did she start to have screaming fit #3 of the morning. So, we made a quick exit and that ended our birthday fun.
Olivia, Makayla, and I have all had some major allergies going on and I think that and being tired got the best of Olivia. So, we came home before Addison even made it to the birthday presents or cake.
Saturday was also Alex's birthday. He got several birthday cards in the mail and phone calls wishing him a good day. He wanted Chinese food for supper. So, he went and got take out for all of us. Ha! We got to watch a movie together on the couch last night when the girls went to bed.
I have spent the better part of today cleaning house and doing laundry. In a couple of weeks we will be having a small get together for our one year 'Gotcha Day'. It was a year ago on the 25th of July that our adoption was final. It is hard to believe that it has been a year already. It will be two years in October since the girls came to live with us. We are very proud of our family and so very thankful for God bringing us together. No one but HIM could have put all of the pieces together.
Have a great week everyone!
