KayKay in Kindergarten
Makayla started Kindergarten on Thursday. She was so excited to take her lunch box and when we entered her class she went straight to her chair.
Olivia and I stuck around for about an hour to meet with KayKay's teacher. Makayla's teacher was quite long winded and I eventually had to just get up and excuse myself from the meeting. Olivia and I went to KayKay's room to tell her goodbye. She was having a great time playing with some new friends and didn't mind at all that we were leaving her there.
I had to walk all the way across the parking lot to get back to the car. Once at the car, I put Olivia down and opened the car door, only to knock Olivia in the head with the door. She fell down and cried. I consoled her and then loaded her up to head to Mrs. Lisa's. About the time we started driving down the road, the bottom fell out of the sky and it was pouring so hard that I could hardly see the road. It was still raining like that when we got to Mrs.Lisa's. I took Olivia in, got soaked, forgot Olivia's lunch, had to run back in, got even more soaked. I was later for work than I had anticipated due to all of the happenings. So, my first day of Makayla being in Kindergarten was kind of a disaster, but Makayla had a great day! And that is all that matters.
Fast Forward: To the weekend.
Saturday was a great day! We slept in and then got ready to go meet a friend of mine from work. We went to Debbie's apartment and picked her up to go out on the town for the weekend.
We went to Hobby Lobby for some cake supplies. Whole Foods was next on the list. Whole Foods is a favorite of Debbie's and ours. We had supper at Copelands. I was excited about eating there. I had never been and heard great things about it.

We had a great time.
Brent hosted a Celebrating Home party today at his apartment and Debbie went with me to that as well. We had a great time, and I will hopefully be having a party soon as well. So, if you are interested in looking at any of the products, let me know and I can give you the website to check them out!

Here are a few of the products. There are tons more to choose from.

Her First Day in the First Grade
I don't know how many Veggie Tale fans there are out there, but the girls have the "Jonah" movie and the opening scene is the veggies riding in a school bus singing, " It's the first day, of the first grade". I have had this song stuck in my head all day long!
Abi was excited for her first day in Mrs. Baker's First Grade Class.
Mrs. Lisa also asked us to start packing a lunch for Olivia. So, here is what the fridge looked like last night with all three little lunches in a row.
Makayla starts Kindergarten tomorrow. So stay tuned......

"Abi did it."
I will begin my post with Olivia's new favorite sentence, " Abi did it". It doesn't matter what I ask Olivia, her answer always points to Abi. It is cute for now.
Olivia also correctly identified a horse in a pasture for the first time today. Typically she calls all of them a "moo moo tow". One more Olivia story and then I will move on, tonight after supper I gave Olivia some M&M's for dessert (they are her favorite) and she looked at me, smiled, and said, "Kank you, Isa" and then she immediately covered her face as if she was embarrased that she called me Lisa instead of Momma.
Alex sent me some beautiful flowers to work last week. We won't go into why the flowers were sent :o) but they are gorgeous.
We went to Grammie and Papaw's last Friday and spent the night. The girls had fun and I think the grandparents did too.
Grammie had a bucket for the girls to play with and they figured out a great game to play pretty quickly.
We stopped in Hot Springs on the way back home and went to the mall. Abi got a couple of pairs of shoes to start school with and we had a really nice time. We let the girls go to Candy Craze and pick out some candy. They LOVED that. Olivia got a whole canister full of, you guessed it, M&M's.
There's a funny story behind this gummie strawberry. While picking out the candy from the bins, Abi turned to Alex and said, " I think I need to get something healthy, so I will get some of these strawberries."
I told Abi this snake would creep Nana out.
Sunday afternoon we had a birthday dinner for Brent at our house. He is very paranoid and anxious about turning 30...in 3 years. So, being the considerate, sympathetic cousin that I am, I got him a cake that was completely appropriate for the occassion.

A Whole Lotta Nothin;
I took off work Friday to stay at home with the girls. Mrs. Lisa wanted a day off to be with her family, so I got one too. I had intended on taking the girls to the museum but we ended up doing nothing. We cleaned house and played play doh. We had pancakes with peanut butter and syrup and listened to Elvis during breakfast. It was a nice day. Brent came up Friday night and we saw "Julie & Julia". It was pretty good. We had a good time.
Saturday was spent at home as well as a family day. After church today, we met some family at Hot Springs for lunch. We miss our families often. It was nice to see them.
We made brownies last night. Everyone chipped in to help clean up......
Shirley, Coy, Memaw, Nana,Seth, Alex, the girls and I all had a great visit.
We have had a rather uneventful, but good weekend.
The girls will be starting school soon and I must say that I am excited. Have you seen the Staples commercial where the dad is dancing in the school supply isle while the kids sulk through the same isle? It is GREAT and it depicts exactly how I feel as the school year approaches. It is bitter sweet. I am extatic to have a much smaller day care payment but I am not sure that I am ready to have a Kindergarten and First Grader.
Makayla is so excited to start school. She has her backpack and lunch box and can not wait. Abi is excited to be the big sister that can show her little sis the ropes of "big girl school".
And Olivia, well, Olivia is a two year old with attitude.
We are all doing well. Olivia has had an ear infection all week and spent most of the week at home with her daddy. She is doing better and hopefully will continue.
Have a great week everyone and we will see you again soon!

Party On
It has been a great weekend! Friday was kind of a mess for me, but after I got that over with, it has been great since. Saturday was Leslie's 4th birthday party. I can not believe that baby has grown up so quickly. Les was going to have a party at the water park but the weather was very uncooperative. So she had her traditional Pizza Hut party. The kids had a blast. Leslie got lots of great gifts.
My good friend, Karen, and I.
Some people really enjoyed the pizza.
We had a great time at the party. We then headed back to Bryant to Target for school supplies for Abi and KayKay. I just have to say that school supply lists have a tendency to get ridiculous! I know that this is just the beginning and things will get worse with each grade that the girls climb, but ugh!
And after school supply shopping it was time to get ready for Noah's 3rd birthday party. His party was at Jump Zone and the girls had a blast there too!
This afternoon Abi, KayKay, and I headed to Party City to look for birthday stuff. Their birthdays aren't until October but we are trying to pace our monthly money spending better this year by buying a little bit at a time. We thought one party favor in particular was humorous. You will probably be seeing this again in the future.
See ya next time!
