Playing Catch Up

It has been a while! The girls are growing up so fast. I can't believe how beautiful they are.

I will start back at Easter of this year. The girls had a personal egg hunting party with Big Granny at her house. None of the other relatives were there, just us and Big Granny. We had a good visit and Big Granny even put some money in some of the eggs. The girls had a blast and I ended up with my first sun burn of the year, ridiculous.

I know that  a lot has happened that I have forgotten about! But, next on my memory card from my camera are pictures from a friend's birthday party. It was a Luau party at Parties Etc!

Makayla took a field trip to the zoo. She got to ride the school bus for the first time. She was pretty excited and I got to ride the bus with her. What joy! I haven't been on a school bus since high school and I sure don't miss those long hot days. Makayla had a blast. On the way to Little Rock I asked her what she was going to see at the zoo. She thought intently for a moment and then said, "hmmm, maybe we will dinosaurs at the zoo."

I found the name of this particular kit interesting and sickening all at the same time. Just in case you can't read it, it says "Body Fluid Clean up Kit"

We had a great day at the zoo. KayKay's friend Skye walked around with us throughout the day. I love the giraffes. They are my favorite and when we went to see them, they were particularly playful. They kept nudging and pushing eachother. It was great! The girls could have cared less but I had to stay and watch for a few minutes.

The kids got to play at the park by the zoo afterwards. They had a blast. The last picture is Makayla's class and her teacher, Mrs. Southard. She has been wonderful!

We went out for a shopping trip last weekend and had lunch at a good mexican restaurant. On Sunday we went to Disney On Ice after church. The girls really liked it and Olivia was jumping out of her chair when she saw Mickey and Minnie. She's a big fan of The Little Mermaid too. Abi and KayKay had a great time too and liked seeing The Princess and the Frog. I laughed my butt off at the end when Toy Story came out with a troll doll in a bikini and a pig skating on all fours. It was a good time.

Disney On Ice put on a show for holidays throughout the year. There was Valentine's Day, Christmas, Birthdays, Halloween, Spring, and Summer. It was fun.We were all exhausted by the time it was over though!
I went in one night to tuck the girls in and turn off their lamp because they had layed in bed and looked at books. This is how we found KayKay....

We went to see our family this weekend. My mom and aunt threw a surprise birthday party for my Memaw. We went to the decoration at the cemetary after church and caught up with a lot of family members there too. I will post on that later...hopefully not two months later, but later.

To end this entry for now, tonight during supper, Abi looked at me as I was giving her a drink and said, "Momma, you're a good parent. And Daddy is too." I never knew how much that would mean to me coming from my child. I told her that she makes parenting easy because she's such a great kid.

We love you all and pray for a safe and happy week!! Take Care!

Teenagers Already??

Abigail and Makayla went to stay with Grammie Retta and Papaw Truman for a few days because I have to go back to work tomorrow. We met Grammie in Hot Springs and had lunch at the Purple Cow. Olivia had a screaming fit when her sisters got their booster seats out of the car and went with Grammie eventhough I had already explained to her fifty times what was going to take place today.

So, tonight we are at home: Alex, me, and Liv. Just the three of us....and it .is.so. wierd. Olivia has been a chatterbox and asking every five minutes "where sissas are?" We had pizza and watched a movie. And then, I really started missing the girls. Alex called them and we talked to them on the phone. Olivia was so giddy about getting to talk to them and they've only been gone about....7 hours.

Olivia got on the phone and began to talk more than I have ever heard her talk to someone over the phone. She told Abi that she rode KayKay's scooter and that she had a cookie. "Wif M&M's on it." My eyes began to tear up because I had a flash forward vision of Abi being off in college and Livi missing her like crazy. I imagined the long phone conversations that they will have (that will probably consist of more than the m&m cookie that Liv had that day). I also am bummed that Alex and the girls will be in Newhope on Friday night and I will be here because I'm on call for work. I haven't been alone at home in forever!  I am planning a sleep over with my buddy Debbie, but I will miss my kiddos.

At the moment, I am in the girls bedroom and Livi is pilfering through all of their toys and causing as much damage as she possibly can while they are not here to get on to her for touching their stuff. And I am savoring it.  I am going to end with a picture of the girls before school one day a couple of weeks ago.
Good Night!

Spring Breakin' It

So, I turned another year older last Friday. As I was getting ready for work, I walked into the living room and Alex had left a box of donuts on the couch and a wrapped gift for me. He got me the donuts because I am responsible for getting the girls up, fed, dressed, groomed, and delivered to school each morning. Alex leaves around 5:30 for work so that he can pick the kiddos up in the afternoons. The donuts were so that I would have a quick and easy breakfast for the girls. He had sent me flowers earlier in the week as well. My co-workers were sweet and wished me a happy birthday. I had a hearing in court that morning and it went well and I got off work around 12:00. I then had lunch with my good friend, Dedee. That evening we dropped the girls off at, another good friend, Debbie's house and Alex took me out to dinner. We ate at Brave New Restaraunt in Little Rock. We sat out on the balcony over looking the river and the buildings lit up at night. There were fire pits out on the balcony and it was relaxing. We had a nice time. We don't get out much just the two of us anymore.

Saturday we went to Newhope to see the family and to have a get together at my parents house.
We had a really good time. Lots of our family members came and some good old friends too. Brent made Tricia and I a birthday cake that was delicious.
The girls enjoyed the time with their grandparents too. We also were able to attend church at Daisy which is always nice. Saturday night we watched the snow falling. Amazing.

After church on Sunday, we ate at Gayle's. Olivia asked Gayle if she could play the piano and Gayle said "of course!" Olivia had great time slamming on the keys. The restaraunt gave her a round of applause when she decided she was finished.
Gayle also let them pick some Easter candy out of the Easter tree.

I have been off this week to be at home with Abi and KayKay for Spring Break.
I took them for pedicures and they had too much fun bossing the men around that were painting their toe nails. I think we may have a problem here.

I hope you all have a great week!
